  • The staff was so friendly and patiently explained everything, even though I clearly had no idea how to order. If you are visiting from abroad and aren't super familiar with Italian dining, I'll tell you that the best option is to get a Secondo + Contorno plate (for a main course plus a side) or a Piatto Misto (for main course, pasta course and a side). The food is tasty and provides a much needed affordable opportunity to eat vegetables. Loved the fennel, loved the steak, loved the tuna, loved the ravoli.

  • Great place for a low key, local experience of lunch away from the tourist traps. Cantina style, you have a selection of dishes to choose from, usually meat or fish paired up with a vegetable dish. They also have some pasta dishes like lasagne. Very good value at around €5-7 Euro’s. Bread on the side is complimentary too. Staff were accommodating and spoke English which I was grateful for with my limited Italian. Perfect little stop off if you are getting of at Trastevere station from the airport or/and staying locally in Monteverde.

  • My family was trying to find a place to eat and this place popped up. Immediately when we walked in we were treated like family. They made a table for us on their patio, brought us huge servings of the food we ordered, which was delicious, and even gave me a complementary glass of wine. I felt like I was in their home. All of this, yet the food was so inexpensive, perhaps the least expensive place we've eaten.

  • Beautiful prices, beautiful service, beautiful food. Of all the 'tavola calda' places we tried during a week in Rome, this was the best. By far the best. We had a plate of roast beef and another of salmon. Dessert is just a fruit cup. No sweets. Since we're not big on sweets, this was even better. See photos and judge if this works for you. The only drawback is the distance from the city centre but it's a winner if you happen to be nearby.
